As Information Officer, I develop strategies to improve information flows throughout the school and with other university services. My long-term web strategy within the school is concerned with enhancing the infrastructure and support provided so that staff have the tools to more efficiently retrieve, update and present school information. I believe that staff should have ownership of website content and feel involved in the school community.

The other part of my job involves managing NESS, an internally developed web application used for teaching administration, and ensuring its successful transfer to ISS by 2012. The development strategy behind NESS is that there should be a high level of key user involvement in the project, and that the success of the project is measured in part by the level of customer satisfaction. Over the next 2 years, NESS will be integrating smoothly into existing university services whilst maintaining its successful business model.

My early career has allowed me to develop my interpersonal, technical and planning skills. My varied experiences include co-programming a computer game 007 Racing, running a web design company and co-founding a centre for personal development, as well as general software development within the university.
