Jennifer graduated from the Australian National University in 1982, with an Honours degree in molecular biology. After working in a number of biology laboratories she turned to computer science, particularly computational biology, and completed a PhD in the use of computational intelligence and image analysis for the early detection of cervical cancer.
Upon completion of her PhD, Jennifer took a position as a Group Leader in Complex Systems Networks at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, University of Queensland. She moved to Newcastle in 2005 to join the Centre for the Integrated Systems Biology of Ageing and Nutrition (CISBAN). She is currently an RCUK Research Fellow in Complex Systems, with a continuing interest in the analysis of biological networks, both abtract Boolean network and data-based integrated functional networks.
