Phil studied at the University of York, where he completed a BSc in Computer Science. During that time he spent a year on placement at Hewlett Packard in Reading and later obtained an MSc at the University of Teesside in Computer Aided Graphical and Technical Applications.
He worked for a number of years as a games programmer before joining the Informatics Research Institute where he is currently the Digital Institute Computer Support Officer.
He is also studying PhD (part time) with Patrick Olivier.
